A Daughter

When General Zia saw the names of the people who were going to met him. When he saw a name on the list his face became full reddish, and he became angry. Whenever he saw him in some meeting, he just wanted to avoid him. One day General Zia was in a good mood. He was walking on a lawn. When General Rafaqat saw him. He thought its the best time to talk with him. So General Rafaqat started talk with General Zia about the politics of Baluchistan. General Zia laughed and told him the funny moments of Sardars of Baluchistan. General Rafaqat said Sir, if you don’t mind can I ask you one question? He said Yes, Rafaqat go ahead. General Rafaqat said, “aap jaam sb sa itna annoyed Kiyo hain”. When general Zia listened to the name of that person. He became angry. His eyes became red. He saw General Rafaqat with a bewildered look and said, Rafaqat I know you are not happy with my attitude toward that person but tell me what I should do. When I saw that person, I just want to break him. However, I am helpless.

Rafaqat one day when I came back from office to home. My operator told me that a girl was calling you since morning, and she looked worried. I said to him Okay, give me her number. He said she was calling from PCO. I ordered him that now when she calls, tell me immediately. After 30 minutes, that same girl called again, and when I received her call and told her that I am General Zia she started crying, I tried that she stop crying but she couldn't. I told her that I want to talk to the owner of PCO. The girl gave the receiver to the owner of PCO, I asked him about his location and send my driver to pick that girl, and she reached Aewan-e-Saddar. Rafaqat, you cannot imagine how worst was her story. She was a poor girl but, due to her hard work, she did Fsc. She applied to medical college. Unfortunately, she was not selected just a difference of two marks. Someone told her that some seats are under the supervision of CM. she wanted to approach CM but, she got to know that it’s impossible to meet him in Quetta. Only possible when he went to Islamabad then you will meet him in Baluchistan house. Then she waited for the visit of CM Baluchistan to Islamabad. After one week CM, came to Islamabad, she got a loan from her relatives and, reached Islamabad. After some struggle, she met the CM of Baluchistan, he listened to his problem and said it’s not a big issue “letter pad aur stamp andaar ha aao meray sath abhi likh deta hun aur bachi uss buzurg k sath andaar chali gai………”

Rafaqat, imagine if you was on my place and you wash her wounds, and you gave her clothes of your daughter, and you tried to stop her tears and said: “ beta apny yeh kapray Yahi chorr Jana k jab bhi wo shakhs tmharay iss bhurray baap k samny Aaye to ghusaay sa iss ki ankahin surkh ho Jain”.

Rafaqat, if you was passed from all that tragedy. Then your blood will never wants to cool down whenever you saw him, and you can’t drink coffee in a relaxed mood.

Mullah Abdul Salam Zaeef is an Afghan diplomat who was the Afghan Ambassador to Pakistan before the US invasion of Afghanistan.
