TikTok Stars

Twenty years old Sajjad and Seventeen years old Zeeshan were residents of Raiwind, Lahore. Both were friends and shooting a TikTok video along the Bhikki Canal in Lahore. While shooting the video, they both slipped and fell into the canal. Unfortunately, they both didn't make it and drowned. Rescue department discovered their bodies in Sheikhupura.

A few days ago, the same type of incident happened in Rawalpindi. Hamza Naveed and Rafaqat were residents of Rawalpindi. They just got the plan to shoot a video across the moving train. They decided that Rafaqat will hold the camera and shoot the video while Naveed will walk across the train. "Sorry across the moving train." Therefore, they initiated everything according to the plan. Naveed couldn't judge the side part of the train. Unfortunately, the train hit him so hard that he died on the spot.

Now let's look at some facts and figures. In 2016, when the fame of selfies was at its peak. Pakistan was also in the top countries of the world where deaths recorded while taking selfies. In the last six months, twelve deaths were recorded while shooting TikTok videos. These are such great numbers.

Now the question arises that why people make such stunt videos? Which thing inspires them to make such videos? The only answer is just for the sake of some views and some damn shit likes. Most of our youth is rushing behind the fame, which is not real. Everyone is just scrolling down their lives. What they do with these likes? Even the person who is giving you like, you didn't know him , and he didn't know you. Just for a fake fame.

So how we educate our youth about the pros and cons of every social media application. Our children spend most of their time at two places: school and home. Teachers and parents have to play a chief role in it. It's their responsibility to tell children about how to use any application properly while blaming the inventions. In our society, most people think that it's just because of the mobile phones or laptops. None of us accept that it's up to us to use the technology in the right way.
