City of Lights

In 1931 Allama Iqbal went to London for attending the second round table conference. During the conference Amarbanito Mussolini from Italy invited Allama Iqbal to Rome. Allama Iqbal accepted that invitation and went to Rome in the third week of November. On 27 Nov 1931, they both met in Rome. They did a lot of discussion on European culture. At the end of the discussion, Mussolini asked Allama Iqbal that tells me the hadees of Hazrat Muhammad SAW which is new and stunning for me. Allama Iqbal smiled and told him, Hazrat Muhammad SAW said “Don’t extend the population of a city, when a city is diversifying then built a new city”. Mussolini said, “what’s the wisdom in this?” Iqbal said “if the population exceeds from the limit, then the economic power in the city becomes weak. Due to this economic downfall come and from these immoral activities took place. So there is unable to live in this city. Muhammad SAW said, “Build a new city according to your population so moral of society was not destroyed.” Mussolini stands up and said “What a great idea”. Mussolini was excited because he knew that Rome is the first city in the world which hits a population of 1 million on graph. After that Rome was in the hands of mafias, and the first superpower of the world, the Roman Empire came to an end.

Just look on the map and mark the big cities of the world. Like Tokyo, Delhi, Shanghai, Mumbai, Beijing, Mexico, and New York. We never saw any peace in these cities, because there is a huge population due to which these all are under control of mafias.

The same situation is in our city named Karachi. In 1947 the population of Karachi was 0.2 million. It was made for just 0.2 million people. But now, its population crossed the figure of 20 million. And providing all the basic facilities to 20 million people is not an easy task.

General Ashfaq Pervaiz Kiyani once told to a senior journalist that “Hilary Clinton asked me that which place in Pakistan is ideal if Osama bin laden wants to hide in Pakistan”. General said “Karachi” it’s so hard to find a person in Karachi.

Our government has to follow the hadees and built new cities near Karachi. If we make a base of new cities near Karachi then there will be no more people like Uzair Baloch. There is an example of Delhi, Indian government build six new cities in the suburb of Delhi. We have to do It now otherwise there will be new characters of Uzair Baloch and Altaf Hussain. It’s the last option to save the city of lights.
